Of course, I'm sure you know there's also:

apartments.com
craigslist
Thanks for the site. It looks like apartment communities in this First Hill neighborhood advertise as Central Area as well...is this the same as the neighboring Central District? Do the two (Central District and First Hill) merge? Can the Central District have views of the skyline as well? Thanks.

Here's NWSource, with a wider map:
NWapartments: Seattle apartment rentals, house rental listings, rental classifieds and other property rentals in Seattle, Tacoma, Bellevue and other Washington areas, cities and neighborhoods | - Search by area
If you click on Downtown and Central, you'll see where the neighborhoods are nearest downtown Seattle.

"Central area" simply means centrally located near downtown.
First Hill is a neighborhood of Seattle.
Central District is a neighborhood of Seattle, and is south of downtown Seattle with not so much of the characteristics you stated that you want.

Yes, you can have great views from the Central District. Downtown views as well as spectacular Lake Washington views. The C-D, as it is sometimes known, has boundaries roughly from 12th Ave on the west to Martin Luther King on the east, and from about King Street on the south to Union/Madison on the North. Because of it's proximity to downtown , affordabilty, and cool old houses, it has become increasingly popular in recent years...
First Hill is even closer to downtown, just east of I-5. Several hospitals are on First Hill, and First Hill has taller buildings than many Seattle neighborhoods.

Default I like tall buildings

Thanks for the tips. I can't tell you how helpful everyone has been so far. I will look into First Hill a little more...can you PM me sometime as you seem to know real estate pretty well?
