Default Belmont and Pine Ave... advice?

(Repost) I am currently apartment hunting and wondering if anyone knows anything about the area on Belmont Ave from Pine to Olive Street (not Olive Way), particularly with regard to crime (assault and violent crime) and overall safety? I've heard this is considered a more sketchy neighborhood but am wondering if it is dangerous or impacted peoples' quality of life in a significant way.

Thanks in advance.

I don't consider that neighborhood dangerous...Years ago I lived nearby at Summit and Denny. You may encounter some drunks in the neighborhood, and it's a pretty dense, busy area, so you might have put up with more noise than you'd like, but in terms of convenience to downtown Seattle and to Capitol Hill, it has a lot going for it.
Me, I like it quieter.

I echo what Ira500 wrote. Years ago I lived sort of near, at John and Bellevue and used to walk west via different routes. "Violence" and "assaults" aren't very prevalent in Seattle anyway; crime here is much more against possessions than against persons.
