Default Question about Wild Waves Theme Park in Federal Way

Hi everyone!

We just moved to this area recently and would like to take our son to Wild Waves Theme Park in Federal Way. But if we want to get the Season Pass (currently going for $75 online - it was $69 just yesterday! Damn!), that would come up to more than $200 for three of us!

Anyone can tell us whether the season pass prices will go down mid-season? If so, by how much?

I am gonna call the park tomorrow but I doubt they'll divulge such details.

In fact, my next question would be: Is it worth paying for the season pass or is just one visit enough? I mean Disney World definitely justifies a multi-day ticket but what about this park?

It's not big enough to need a multi-day pass. If you enjoy the park and plan on going frequently it might justify the price of the season pass.

You might see if you can get day tickets and buy season passes after you've seen the park.

I wouldn't buy a seasons pass without having been.... in my 10 years, and 3 kids of living there - we never once went. I can't imagine it will be something you would do multiple times in a season - but I could be wrong...

Having been to both I would say skip Wild Waves and go to Silverwood for a long weekend instead. Bigger park, better weather.

Thanks for the reply guys!

Jenbar: I'm confused: If you never went, then how would you know? Did you hear from others...?

fy10fyr: Thanks so much for that tip! Being new to WA (indeed, to USA!), I never knew about Silverwood! How many days do you think I will need (mainly to suit my 6-yr-old son's pleasures)? We visited Disney World this past Feb, where we'd got a 12-day pass which was just nice (inclusive of Typhoon Lagoon, Disneyquest, Downtown Disney and the four main parks).

Sean98125: Forgot to thank you too! Good idea about asking if we can convert the tickets to season passes after we've tried it out. I'm tempted to check out Silverwood though, on fy's recommendation since (s)he's been to both.

I wouldn't buy season passes to ANYTHING that I hadn't first tried out to see how we liked it. That was just my general advice to you.

Specifically, about the park you are asking about - we never went because it didn't sound like a way we would want to spend our time for several reasons... 1) The commute down to Federal Way from eastside/North of Seattle 2) Small place, older and not kept up well, and **extremely** crowded on the 2-3 weeks of sunny warm weather that would warrant it 3) Having driven by countless times and personal advice/anticdotes from friends and family who had been 4) Overpriced for what it is

.... and you can go to a smaller, city run water park in Renton for something like $3 a person.

I think Silverwood is quite a drive, it's definitely an overnight thing... BUT, I have heard it's great. Not like Disney World, you could do the whole park in one day, but driving there and back would be the reason for the overnight. I would choose that one over Wild Waves without question.

I wouldn't buy season passes to Wild Waves unless it was for a teenager who might want to go alot. I haven't been in years and years, but I don't remember it being that great. Maybe somewhere a kid might want to go to several times a year, but not adults.
