Yes, you will be fine
Assuming, of course, you're not spendthrifts.
And assuming your children are in public schools, which, on the eastside, are good.
And assuming they're not teenagers who want you to buy them everything that's shiny.

Yes, Kids will be in public school
Yes, Kids want everything, "Shiny" but my policy with them is: "Don't Ask, Don't Disappoint" .. and they are fine with that

Good luck with that! Depends on what your definition of "fine" is.

- Pay Bills (rent, utilities, insurance etc)
- Eat well and occasionally out
- Money for hobbies (nothing expensive)
- Money for vacation abroad (once a year);
- ...and still save for a rainy day (oooops forget it always rains in that part of the world)

Well, we left the area when we were priced out and our quality of life suffered and could no longer afford the things you mentioned above. 3 kids, one tech husband, one housewife, $120k a year @ MS.

What was is that made you price out? Was it housing alone that did it, or were there other factors? I have one kid less, but my situation in the Seattle area will be similar to what yours was there.... (well we don't go abroad anymore, but otherwise...)

You'll be just fine. Just ignore the double income Microsoft families that don't understand why you don't just go out to eat all the time and take trips to mexico for spring break.
