Default Bellevue Address + Renton Schools = will be hard to resell in future?

We have found a beautiful home in Bellevue, however it is in the Renton school district. Our kids will be attending a private school, so for us this isn't a huge issue. However we have been told that because it's in the Renton school district that this will be an issue for re-sale in the future.
Bear in mind, we are not planning on moving anywhere at least for the next 5 years - so would this really be a bad decision on our part?
Thanks!!!

I don't think the fact that the house is in the Renton school district should have that much of an impact. First, those houses in Bellevue but in the Renton district are a bit less expensive, which males them a bit more sellable. Second, even though the Renton school district as a whole has a bad reputation and Renton certainly has it's share of bad schools, those schools closest to the Bellevue border are considered quite good.
That all said, houses are selling slowly right now in most of the Seattle area, including homes in the Bellevue school district and the Renton district. This will of course change at some point. I wouldn't stay away from a home in Bellevue just because it's in the Renton school district, but keep in mind that the "good deal" you may be gettng is partly
due to this.

Default Thanks Ira500!!

The houses are on the higher end (near a mil) but are just off I405 on Lake Wash Blvd. Does that change your opinion? THanks in advance!!

That's a great area! My thinking is that a high percentage people buying a home in that particular area would also have their kids in private schools.
Again, home prices are continuing to drop, inventory is high and sales are down. As Yogi Berra once said " Predictions are hard to make, especially about the future."
