I've used Albertsons.com for at least 7 years, and I love them. Great service. Fresh, excellent produce, meats, fowl, seafoods but most of that is a bit more expensive than store-shopping, but if that's how I want to shop, I'm willing to pay the slight extra. Friendly folks, including the delivery persons.
I started using them because I got worn out lugging cat litter, cans of cat food, and cubes of Pepsi cans. I wanted a delivery service to do all the heavy lifting for me. And I wound up having them do most of my work, and sometimes all my work. Love them.

I've seen some conversations on a Seattle blog about Amazonfresh, people seem to really like it.
So us without a car and also tired of hauling kitty litter, I looked at their website to see what they had. No go. You have to go through the whole registration and login just to get into the website to see what they have. Meh. I haven't bothered.

I use safeway.com for delivery, and have for the past 5 or 6 years (first in CA, now here). Also because of kitty litter (we used to live on the third floor of an elevator-less building). I find their prices are better than Amazonfresh. I wanted to like Amazonfresh, since my husband works for Amazon, but we're sticking to Safeway for now.

I tried using Amazonfresh.com, but didn't end up making the order because my particular zip code required me to pay an extra membership cost. If you're within their delivery zone, I think it's worth a shot.

I just placed my first order tonight...should have done it much sooner as my husband works there. But we'll see. I was PLEASANTLY surprised at their prices. Much better than my local QFC. They have my favorite flavored water for $3.09. I paid $3.99 at QFC and that was a sale price down from $6.99. All the other items were less expensive as well. I sat with my QFC receipt in front of me while I shopped. Best part is that it is 10:45 at night and my order will be at my door by 6am!!! And no impulse buys at QFC. I am almost scared to get attached to this like I did to something called Peapod back in the day. Saved my life to have that with a new baby so I'd love it if this works!

OMG - I LOVE LOVE LOVE this service. To sit at your computer at 10:00 at night and then have your groceries being delivered the next morning bright and early .... well, its just damn divine.
The produce that has been delivered has been in excellent shape. The drivers are always extremely nice. If you order over ...I think its $25.00, the delivery is free.
Love it! Give it a try.

I am seriously envious. With all the stuff I buy from Amazon, the least they could do is expand this service to Houston!

I haven't heard of AmazonFresh before. But people do order and have groceries delivered from existing brick and morter companies, including me.
Services have gotten better. I rarely have a mistake on my order, but I rarely get my groceries delivered now.

I'm resurrecting this thread to post this very important public service announcement.
Vote for your zip code and the magical Amazon fairy will bring fresh mangoes to your doorstep:

Seems like a waste of gas to bring that big truck around. It's overload. I pickup really fresh produce in the course of my day already. My wife is from a country where there are people hawking fresh goods on streetcorners all day, it's unbelievable. Millions of people thriving on it. Here we have these absurd "saaaafety" rules which prevents anyone from really selling food. Then we all say how much we want to be eco-serious while the four ton truck drive up the hill to bring a head of lettuce to your door. Seems like a big waste of resources. Then again, I've always had Smith Brothers milk delivered. I refuse to drink anything else.
