Default Furniture buying help!

I'm new to seattle (< 20 hours), do not know a single humanoid, and have no idea where to buy furniture, to top it all, I cannot discern what furniture looks good, I mean I'm clueless.

So, does anybody want to help me find furniture? I can compensate with a lunch/dinner and or green bills if it really comes down to it!

My budget is 4k (max), I want to spend more like 3k (or less ), for:

Bed (including mattress, or just a matress)
Sofa (sectional, or whatever you guys call it)
A sweeeet computer desk (big one)
A sweeet chair
two side tables (left and right to the sofa)
two long lamps (those lounge type ones)

Try Craigs list and buy what you like. It does not matter what others think, it is what you enjoy. Mix and match---old or new.

Seakid,

Welcome to Sunny Seattle The sun will be out later in the week, honest. There are a lot of furniture stores in the Southcenter area which is south on I5 near the airport. Here you will find a range of furniture stores from posh to Ikea

By the way a great way to spend your first Saturday am is walking Alki Beach...even take the water taxi from the pier near downtown.

Enjoy

If you are into one stop shopping, try IKEA (there is one in Seattle). Rent a small truck for the day. You can shop them online to see if the styles match your needs, and I would believe them to be in your price range. You can furnish an entire place on a few thousand there easily, and it's rather good quality for the price. They have a huge showroom area you can sit down on couches, try out a bed, etc. After that, you walk through and pick up the boxes for everything.

A lot of assembly is required, but usually no tools. Since everything is unassembled and in flat boxes, you should be able to move all but the bed and couch by yourself. Maybe you could meet a neighbor when you solicit help (offer to take them out for lunch/dinner or order take-out).

Best of luck. I'm not even in Seattle yet (moving next month) but am in the market for a lot of new furniture!
