So true, CityGirl72. Like the phrase "sunbreaks" so common in Seattle weather forecasts.
Why don't they say " it's going to remain cloudy with on and off drizzle until 5 minutes before dusk, then the sun will come out right before it sets."

The high temperature is always measured at the warmest part of the day which is in the late afternoon.

I agree with Lord B, the one thing I've noticed in Seattle (that I think transplants should know) is if the weather report says it will get into the 60s, that it takes ALL DAY LONG to get there...and somewhere around 5 pm it might be NEAR the 60s...but all day it was really in the 40s or 50s...

Why doesn't the weather report say that? "It will be 48 degrees all day long and might climb to 62 by dinner"...that seems more realistic
I agree!!!!!!
That's probably my number one pet peeve about Seattle weather. I absolutely HATE when it does that. It's like the sun is insulting us and saying "nah, nah, nah, nah, nah - see what YOU missed ALL DAY LONG". On days like that I would ALMOST prefer it just stay crappy all day rather than tease us that way.

However, I do have to say that the sun is starting to come out here near the airport - finally!

Ken

According to weather underground, the clouds will burn off between noon and two, so I expect us to hit mid seventies around 4.

I just mentioned that to my husband the other day.....isn't it crazy that it's cloudy all day and then early evening the sun decides to come out. WTF!!! This is the craziest weather I lived with anywhere....it doesn't make sense. We mowed our lawn a few weeks ago and then it started snowing....blows me away. The trees lose their leaves but the grass stays green all year????? No wonder I feel so out of place.....totally not what I'm used to. And what's with daylight at 5am.....yikes....I'll have to buy darkening shades. I feel like I'm in a "catch 22"....I need to make my bedroom darker to be able to sleep in past 5am.....but yet once I'm up....I have to open every blind in the house so I can get some light?????
