Cougar Moutain Zoo
For mother's day, my husband bought me a lemur encounter at Cougar Mountain Zoo (I got to go in the cage with the lemurs and feed them bananas). It was awesome!! It was definitely a once in a lifetime experience. If anyone is looking for a unique gift, or an awesome experience, I highly recommend it!!!

I always wondered about that zoo, Veronika. When I lived in Issaquah I would see signs for the zoo from the freeway but I never went. How big is it?
I'm glad to see you're finally starting to appreciate the Northwest. It's a really great place to live. I'm sure once you get settled in you'll love it even more.
I really like Issaquah with the old downtown plus all the other big stores like Target and Fred Meyer. I miss it sometimes. For me though it was too far from the city and my work.

I read somewhere that the two Bengal tiger cubs, which were in the news last year, are one year old this weekend.
We have not gone there yet, despite having driven by numerous times on SR 900.

It's a fairly small zoo, but it's very interactive. There are lots of animals there that you can feed and such. It's no San Diego Zoo, but I find the SD Zoo to be a bit much to do in a day, and Cougar Mountain you can see everything in an afternoon. Plus the staff are very knowledgeable and friendly! I'm really looking forward to when my son will be old enough to appreciate it.
As to loving it here, I doubt that will ever happen, but it's certainly not the end of the world that I'm stuck here for another 3 years.

Oh my...My wife would die and go to heaven if she could feed bananas to any animal besides our chubby little dachsund. I plan on bringing her to Seattle in September-October to get her to fall in love with the PNW so we can move back in the coming years...If she thinks that she can go play with Lemurs and Tigers as a perk to living in America, she may just forget about the other stuff she has heard about!!
Cool!

What a great gift Veronika! That sounds like it would be a lot of fun. I'll have to take our two kids there, they are 11 and 13. Sounds like it would be a nice family outing, of course not in today's heat, lol.
