You guys are so out there in this regard, it's pointless... it would be like trying to talk about a bad day to allforcats.
Jenbar--10 to 1 both Botev and Seattlerain are born and raised Seattlites. I have friends who are and the weather just doesnt get to them (its all they know and therefore comforting. Sunny days are a treat not an expectation). The people that hate the weather typically are from other parts of the country and even though they know its cloudy and rainy in Seattle still expect more sun than mother nature is going to give them.
People are all different and even though I may see the glass as half empty others (Seattlerain and Botev for example) will see the glass as half full (party cloudy vs party sunny).
This board is funny because we will never convince others to change their perceptions but we kill ourselves trying....

I've lived and worked in many different places around the world...Seattle is by no means all I know.

Yes, people are all different...I have friends from Rhode Island, Texas, California, New York, South Carolina and many other places and they either love the weather here or don't mind it. I have friends native to Seattle and they don't like the weather at all.

Well, we all feel differently about the weather. When everyone gets into these arguments about what's partly sunny or cloudy or what.....I think it's absurd. The day is either nice or not....for the most part the weather sucks out here.

When I get a sunbreak (term I've never heard before) at 5 in the afternoon....I think that sucks, too. Waiting all day for a brief appearance of the sun.....it's like a tease. And that is when it finally warms up to all of whatever temp people out here think is warm....not what I consider warm.

I want to wake up to sunshine.....not drag my ##s out of bed everyday hoping I might see some sun popping through at 5.

And, another thing, this whole rain thing is ticking me off. I used to love laying in bed on rainy mornings....nothing cozier and sexier than that..........please make me late for work. But now that it's everyday.... it takes the fun out of that, too!

You must be from another part of the country. Its funny how life works but when I used to live in Seattle it was a treat waking up to sun. Now that I live in Vegas its a treat to wake up to clouds...aahhh, scratch that--Its still a treat waking up to sun everyday but this whole sun thing everyday is still new to me--one day it might get old.

Samsmom states exactly how I feel

The sunbreaks that happen at 4 or 5 pm, are nothing but a tease of what nice weather could be. And having to wait all day long in hopes that it might be warm (or what people think is warm) at 5 pm, is not pleasant either.

I like my whole day to be nice, from start to finish, and maybe it's just me, but not just for a couple of days - or even a couple of weeks, but months at a time.

I too used to adore the rain. I slept with my windows open and listened to the pitter pat, and cuddled up to my husband, it was sexy and romantic - now it's just something that saddens my heart.

CityGirl, I moved to Portland from Napa three years ago and I'm having the same trouble. I used to be outside a lot in CA; now it's squishy, cold, and wet in the yard so much of the time & I don't like being outside. That really gets to me - just the fact that I used to LOVE being outside, doing just about anything. Now it's just not a big part of my life anymore. I hate that. I've been trying to get back to California but it isn't easy with a family, etc.

Every day is a gift, whether it is sunny and warm or rainy and cool. Instead of going into the day with disappointment because the gift you received isn't exactly what you hoped for, you should go into the day with appreciation for the gift that you received.

Oh yes, that new age Oprah philosophy is gonna help. Gee thanks. Why didn't I think of that?
