Is it me or is it hard for people to drive on the freeways?
I have been to Seattle twice in the last few months and I've noticed that there are no aggressive drivers on the roads. It seems like everyone just follows the slow guy for miles and miles.
I don't mean weaving in and out of traffic like a LA high speed chase. I mean just driving faster than 55.
I had one guy driving fast near me and I just guessed that he was from CA cause of his driving, not erratic, but didn't follow behind everyone. I was right, his plates said CA.
So, my question is, is it hard for people to drive in Seattle?

Being from Calif - my husband b**ches at me constantly that I drive like a Californian. I tell him I'm just confident.
But I go visit in California, and everyone tells me I drive like a snail - people blaze past me now.

That's exactly it, I was born here (CA) and Ill be moving there in a few weeks (Bellevue) Everyone drives real slow and in the same lane the entire length of their trip. I can't do that.
Is it worse in the rain, since it will rain from Oct.-Apr. or something like that. I heard it's worse, but I figured if you are in the rain most of the time you would be able to drive better in it.

You would figure that, but, no, traffic is still worse when it rains.

It's worse when 1) it rains or 2) it's sunny
Too much change up in the weather and people go nuts

I always blow past the slow drivers. I am a native and usually go at least 70 mph at all times.

People in Seattle don't drive well in the rain. People in Seattle don't drive well when it's sunny. People in Seattle don't drive well in the snow.
...But when it's just overcast, we're okay.

You know what's really tough to drive in? When it rains and then the sun comes out a few minutes later and blinds you. The rainbows are pretty though.

I'm a very aggressive driver on the freeways. I'll tailgate the slow guy and flash my lights, even if he is going 70. There are more and more of us California drivers on Puget Sound freeways these days and I think the more passive Northwest drivers are starting to take notice. I have no problems passing the slow driver on the right and then cutting in front of him. He will usually get the message and move over.
Parts of I-5 are starting to behave like a SoCal freeway with alot of people driving 75+ I'm talking mainly about the stretch from about Federal Way to the West Seattle Freeway. There's also parts of 405 that are like that on the Eastside.

Seattle leads the nation in per capita sales of sunglasses. My theory is that because we sometimes have long stretches of days without sunshine, people lose their sunglasses in that time.
...And yes, when it's sunny after a rain there's usually horrible traffic because people are smashing into each other.
