I saw that you were able to re-home your cat. Congratulations.

Just wanted to throw this out there for others that have cats with this issue (like myself). Puppy pads have saved me so much heartbreak. I took on a cat with this issue. Her preferred spot was the floor next to the box. I finally learned (after over a year of struggle w/training) to put a self-adhesive puppy training pad down. She poops right on the puppy pad. Every morning I pick up the pad, put it in a plastic bag, and put it outside in the trash.

If proper litter box set-up/ training/ medication don't work, a puppy pad is another possible solution.
