Default Health insurance in Seattle area

I am going to work as a consultant at Microsoft. The agency doesn't offer a health insurance plan. I just found out that my COBRA insurance in California cannot be moved to another state. Do you know where I can find health insurance or join an HMO in the Redmond area?

ehealthinsurance.com is one choice for looking. In this area, the main providers for individual health insurance are Regence ( Blue Shield), Premera(Blue Cross) Group Health, and KPS Health Plans.

Is Lifewise still available in the area? We had Lifewise (it's through Premera) and it was the lowest cost. We have also had Regence. Both have excellent coverage plans. Customer service varies.

Insurance plans that you purchase on your own are extremely expensive in the WA area. We insured a family of 5 and paid almost $700 a month in premiums (plus copays and the 20% not covered in our 80/20 plan.)

Yes, Lifewise is still available. Most of the individual health plans that are reasonably priced are fine as long as you never get sick.

If you ARE "over 50", you can get insurance through AARP (membership not necessary) which is accepted by WA medical and dental providers.

Default AARP insurance not available in WA

The major medical plan offered by Aetna/AARP is not available in the State of Washington.

I have a severe dental problem/emergencies. I have some abccesses which keep me sick most of the time. My old dentist when I was working would call in perps for antibiotics but he won't do that any more. I am retired and live on a very small pension and have absolutely no money for dental. I am desperate. I live in Lakewood. Does anyone have any suggestions??

Try the Lakewood Clinic 10510 Gravelly Lake Dr, 253-589-7188 or the Tillicum Clinic at 14916 Washington Ave SW in Lakewood 253-589-7027...These places exist to serve people who need free or reduced cost dental services.

Are you a veteran? If so, you can apply to get treated at the VA.

Search online for dental discount insurances. My boyfriend is having major dental work, a bridge and had 3 teeth pulled and all 4 wisdom teth that werte impacted pulled. He received half off through the dental savings, which is the best dental coverage you can get without waiting 6 months.
