Locations around Covington?
Hello, Me and my wife are wondering where to move. I am transfering to a Costco in Covington Washington. We have four children, so a good neighborhood is a must. How are the schools in Tacoma, Covington, Payullyup, or Kent. Which is a nicer city with good schools? Hope someone Knows, Thank you

If you can, get into the Tahoma ( Maple Valley) school district. Maple valley is close to Covington, and parts of covington are in the Tahoma district, as are parts of Renton and Kent. Puyallup is a bit further, with bad traffic. Within Renton, you can also live in the Issaquah school district, which is a big plus. So if you're living in Renton and concerned about schools, shoot for something in either the Issaquah or Tahoma district, or at least the eastern part of Renton, where individual schools within the Renton district are better than the district as a whole. Kent's schools used to be considered great, and still are for gifted students, but the district no longer has a great reputation, although I'm sure there are still some good schools. greatschools.net I believe is a good resource.
The North end of Tacoma is also nice.

The Costco store in Covington is real nice and the folks that work there seem happy and friendly. I live in Kent, which is not far from the area and has a good school district too.
Good luck with your transfer.

You wouldn't want to consider Puyallup, way too far. Same with Tacoma. You will never see your kids if you commute like that. Not sure what your budget is but that entire area is fine for schools. Lake Wilderness area, around the golf course there, is a very short commute to Costco. It's not very expensive. There is another area called Cherokee Bay, very inexpensive, and decent. All around Pipe Lake is fairly nice too. I would just sketch those areas out and stay close to work.
Example here right next to the park, where I used to play frisbee 25 years ago, and nothing has changed. Very relaxed and nice during summer.

Reason: let's not cite a specific MLS listing. Thanks!
