Good restaurant for anniversary?
My wife and I are traveling to the Seattle area next month for a week-long trip. We'll be hitting up some of the wine country near Yakima and some hiking in the three national parks. Neither of us have ever been to the Pacific NW.
We'll also be celebrating our 5-year anniversary. Just wondering if there are any recommendations for a good restaurant. I don't think it has to be an exceptionally romantic or formal place (we probably won't have a lot of nice clothes with us), but I want to the food to be outstanding.
Any ideas. would be much appreciated. Thanks!

There are tons of possibilities, but we celebrated our wedding anniversary at Ray's Boathouse a couple of years ago. It's a Seattle dining landmark of sorts, and we really enjoyed it.

Happy Anniversary!!
My strongest recommendations, and clothes although required are not restricted:
Any of the Tom Douglas restaurants. Tom is a world-renowned chef, especially (but not exclusively) for seafood, and Seattle is a haven for seafood lovers. His restaurants, and my favorites are Dahlia Lounge or Etta's:
Welcome to Tom Douglas Restaurants
An experience you will remember forever -- a three-hour experience including some circque, some cabaret, some vaudeville, and a 5-course Tom Douglas meal. Absolutely fantastic!:
Teatro ZinZanni Seattle
If for any reason you can't do any of the above, here is a selection of excellent seafood restaurants in downtown Seattle:

Rays is cool, quality food and has character
Space Needle for the view, however (at least when I lived in Seattle) the food was so-so.
Palisade is pretty sexy interior, and quality food, not cheap.
Campagne is top end French and french food is always romantic
When I was a chef in Seattle one restaurant kept coming up as "most romantic" in the polls and that was Andaluca
Im sure there are many great restaurants now that are chef driven , sometimes those smaller 40 seat restaurants are the best because of the intimate attention and the lack of "dining with the herd" feeling. The residents there now Im sure have a much better list then me.
Though I also recommend going to Pike Place , buying some ready made foods, tapas, cheese, wine and head back to the hotel for a celebration in your pajamas....thats a nice change of pace too...
Enjoy Seattles awesome food

I'd say Canlis, but
you mentioned clothing, and they have a bit of a dress code. It is the epitome of fine dining, however.
Other suggestions have been good. I'm a fan of the Dahlia Lounge, and also smaller places like Lark, Crush, Crow, and Pair (lot of one-named places).
You're in luck, as it's a great restaurant city.

A good, relatively inexpensive time to visit Palisade is their "first seating" on the weekends. We've done that once.
Palisade for the Frugal
On a sunny day, the view can truly be stunning, with Elliott Bay, the city, and Mt. Rainier in the background. We've been lucky, in terms of visibility, the three times that we've been there over the years. Now that I think of it, one of them was an anniverary.
We haven't gone to Canlis (mentioned in the post above), but we want to. Maybe the next special occasion.
