Seattle shack for rent--only $1,000 month
Is there really somebody who will pay $1,000 first, last, and security deposit for this? Found on today's craigslist. Unbelievable.
Renters insurance recommended.....

Betcha they didn't advertise that place as "shack." Maybe "cozy", but not shack or hovel. That'd be too honest.

I like that. "Cozy hovel for rent. Tenants must be dwarves to clear overhang on collapsing front porch. Screen door included without extra charge. Electricity on site. Landscaping includes partial picket fence and bush."

LOL I saw that on Craigslist too! Unfortunately I was paying over $1000 a month for a one bedroom apartment and had a "good deal." Managed to find a "starter condo" for not much more so at least some of the $$ are going into my own pocket. But yah... rents are horrendous here!

I saw an outhouse on some national website in Bellenue. It was listed at $300K.
I'm serious. It was an outhouse....and it wasn't even erect. It was sort of leaning over.
And I'm thinking....Hrmmmm....If that costs 300K...ermm.
Then I did some research and realized that Seattle brought this upon itself. Eventually common people will be priced out so far that it will be impossible for Seattle as we know it to survive.
You can't afford Bellevue as a teacher...how can you afford it if you flip burgers?
Why would you TRAVEL to Bellevue to flip burgers? Heck, you can't afford the gas, you can't afford the car..why pay for a bus to get you there? You're losing money..and you realize this. Services fall off. After a while, Bellevue becomes a place of million dollar homes....and no hamburgers.
Can you imagine life without hamburgers? OMG I love hamburgers.

Oh, Bellevue will still have hamburgers, but they'll be "hand forged kobe beef burgers with a morel mushroom and beurre blanc sauce", and cost forty dollars.

They still manage to have hamburgers in Manhattan and San Francisco, which are more expensive. So, no worries.

That looks a lot like a house my husband and I rented in Ballard, and we were THRILLED to get it because we had two dogs and no one wanted to rent to us...we called something like 70+ places before we found a rental home that allowed our dogs.
