The homeless there look well fed and nourished. They look like people who have it together but opt to live the way they are living.

Would anyone have some feedback on this?
There was a news article talking about a knife fight in DT Seattle between a couple of homeless guys over a corner. Apparently the older one had been making over $50k/year on hand outs and didn't like the younger one stepping in on his turf. I wish I could find the article...a number of my co-workers were discussing quitting their jobs at that!
With that kind of income, you can sleep where you want to -- just maintain the look. As for the rest of them, many of them set up tents in wooded areas and parks -- the city of Seattle has to find the camp, then give a 72 hour notice before being able to remove anything. So it's probably not too hard to just move from park to park (or overpass, or whatever).

Turf wars!!

The 2nd article encapsulates most homeless in most cities. I don't think there is anything that would tie it into the just the Seattle homeless. JMO

If you give a homeless person money, don't let them shake your hand or give you a hug. You'll catch a cold and get a case of lice at the same time. No good deed goes unpunished as they say !

Why not? Why not be an address-less person? 30 grand a year, free room and board, 4 meals a day, and nothing to do but beg and explore! No responsibility's, no time lines, no nothing!!
