Searching for rural location with commute to Lynnwood
My family and I are relocating to the seattle area from Colorado. My husband will be working in Lynnwood. We are looking for a semi rural location with a good school district and a commute of not more than 45 minutes. Any suggestions would be great.

Check out Snohomish or Lake Stevens, maybe even Monroe. I'm guessing Monroe will be more than 45 minutes during peak traffic. Not sure about schools.
Mill Creek and Bothell are very close in to Lynnwood- it depends on what you call rural. Both have semi-rural areas where you can find an acre lot.

Bothell, Kenmore, and some of Woodinville are in the Northshore School District, which is very well regarded. There are also some pretty rural areas like Maltby and Clearview nearby.
Lynnwood is in the Edmonds school district, also considered good but maybe not as good as the Northshore District?
And Edmonds is a very nice town. I wouldn't call it semi rural, but it's manageable and pleasant.

Thanks everyone. Bothell and Snohomish seem to fit our requirements. Any idea of rush hour commute times to Lynnwood

Can't speak for Snohomish, but depending on where in Bothell and where in Lynnwood, the normal commute should be about 25 minutes, and 405 is not nearly as bad there as it is further south in Bellevue and Renton, so I figure worst case scenario would be 45 minutes, and that wouldn't likely be everyday...
I've done the Bothell to Lynnwood trip a few times on a weekday rush hour, and traffic wasn't bad at all, moving but a little slow, but that doesn't mean it's like that all the time.

Ira is right about the commute times from Bothell- I've driven from Bothell to Lynnwood in rush hour, too. It depends on where in each city and what route you'll be taking whether it's closer to 20 or 30 minutes.
You should be able to get from Snohomish to Lynnwood in 45 minutes taking back ways. Snohomish is nice and I'd choose it over Bothell if you can take the commute.
