lol..well it's been moving along since...
early 2007, so its had its day....but let's keep it going. I was REALLY glad to read the new post of our friend RED that interned at MS. That was good because I have been quite torn between choosing Seattle or Atlanta. Everything I have heard and seen about Seattle thanks to some very convincing pictures in other threads as well as info, screams to me Seattle. Just would fit my lifestyle and who I am I believe. But I want to hear form MORE black people in the area. So hopefully we will get more input....let's keep it ALIVE!

This thread isn't dead. It is the second longest thread on Seattle's forum and probably one of the most civilised threads for Washington's forum. It has been going on since February 2007. I love this thread.

Once again I have to say I fit it fine in this growing metropolis. I'm black from Chocolate City D.C. You will not miss anything pertaining to black people because its here. If you live in the city like I do you will see that ALL people live, work and play in harmony. We have black barbershops, hair salons, churches, restaurants, festivals and many other black businesses throughout metropolitan Seattle. As I sit here in the Internet Cafe at 14th and Pine there are 1,2,3,4,5,6, oh wait a minute 8 black people sitting in here chatting, drinking coffee and just living their normal lives. I honestly knew nothing about the pnw and black people in the pnw before I moved here. I thought it would be all white folks but I was mistaken. Statistically it doesn't sound like many live there but just walk the streets and live here and you will see things are much different.

Grew up here-Moved-Came Back
I am from Seattle. I moved to Florida to go to college because I went to a high school where blacks made up only ten percent of the population. I don't personallly like seeing all my black kings with snowbunnies either so I went down south to a Black College where the men have an appreciation for sistas. If you're looking for a melting pot this is it. I love the summers but the winters are too long. The only reason I moved back is a)Missed my family and b)I got to bring my Southern MAN back with me. YAYYY!! Seattle is coo if you have money cuz then you can travel and enjoy weather and atmospheres in other places. I don't like the accents here though, very corny, I'm tryin to hold on to the Southern accent I picked up from being down South for six years. So overall, Seattle's not a bad place but it's not a BLACK place either. lol

^^^Are you talking about the accents of the black native Seattleites? If you are then I have to agree. They are quite different. But then again most of the natives came to Seattle from the south.

I guess that was one of the many things i found refreshing about Seattle. The freedom to do whatever and pick whatever mate you wanted without anyone trying to induce a guilt trip. It's a free country and no one belongs to anyone whether they be a king or a court jester. Cheers!
BTW, would you be happy is some white person described a Black woman as a "dark butt"? Snow bunnies? Come on now, you can do better than that.

Thank God you said!
I was going to say something similar and thought I would read on and see if someone else beat me to it. I'm glad you did. We really need to get over that. And what a disrespectful remark "Snowbunny" Are you speaking of other humans...I wonder if the Creator refers to it's creation with such remarks. And if someone came on here and said I'm tired of seeing my Greek God's with all these jigaboos there would be a riot! We can't have it both ways. Respect MUST be mutual. So you had to go to the South and bring yo Black King back, well good! Nuffin to complain about....Unless the King decides he wants to try the forbidden fruit.

Don’t try to call one person’s comment ignorant and respond with an ignorant and condescending reply of your own. If you are trying to prove to us how somehow you are above the posters “snow bunny” comment than do so without throwing slurs out because it makes you sound just as ignorant. Ponder on that.

I would...
but seriously, you've offered nothing to ponder. Huh?

Long story short, Seattle gets rave reviews from what I see in this thread.
