I have a lot of black friends and that is what they explained to me when we were having a discussion about it because we have all been to the south and noticed the blacks are different than the ones up here in how they behave etc.

If This isnt the biggest bull. Most of the blacks in the Northwest are FAR more well off than blacks in the south as far as living conditions...Seattle has less black people..and less poor black people than my city..Macon, GA
and its definetly not rougher and that goes for tons of southern midsized cities around 100,000 population 50% black and higher.
Let alone Atlanta, New Orleans or some places like that. You're talking non sense. In terms of crime, thugs and poverty, she will not see anything in Seattle that she hasnt saw in Alabama 2 or 3x worse. AL contains the 6th most dangerous city in the Nation ...73% black Birmingham
Seattle would be a much nicer place as far as being less likely to run into "THUGS"
lol my whole town is damn near "the ghetto"..down here in Macon GA
you're right...boys up there are ACTING...boys down south really living that life

I live in the South, and I'm trying to get out. There is politeness, but most of it is among the elderly who were Southern born and raised. Apart from that, there is a degree of rudeness everywhere. The difference is that the South gets stereotyped as "polite". Honestly, there is bigotry here. I have experience some prejudice myself, more living in GA than anywhere else I have lived.
Seattle isn't perfect and the Mard Gras riots speak for themselves, but there have been so many things happening in Atlanta(perhaps not riots, but other issues). I would rather be in Seattle.

The "thug life" is being lived in the South, and not just in Atlanta, New Orleans or Birmingham, but some of the smaller cities like Savannah, Macon, Albany GA, and even in some of Atlanta's suburbs(even the relatively safe suburbs like Marietta.)

It's Not a Huge Population of Blacks
... here in the Seattle metro area, but the black population in our area isn't insignificant, as it's greater in overall number than the total population of blacks in several other U.S states combined.
The Seattle metro area is particularly good if you're receptive to the possibility of having interracial relationships, as we have a very large percentage of interracial people, such as myself. It's not a Nirvana, and certainly there are occasional problems, like elsewhere in the U.S., the overall I'd say the climate is reasonably comfortable here.

I have no qualms about interracial relationships. If the love is real, then it shouldn't matter.

In the past few years though with the skyrocketing real estate prices many in the 'CD' are selling there homes for top dollar and moving to many of the suburban towns south of the city. Also I've met quite a few blacks from New York, D.C., Chicago and Boston. The following pics I took around the city. Again aupz23, WE do exist.

I actually didn't know when I took the pic but it has been mentioned a few times.
