Default Best Centex Home community in Seattle?

Hello I am just doing some research, I was wondering what is the best location in Seattle for a Centex Home?

Here is a list, if you don't know about the Centex community input about the neighborhood around the complex would be great also. The locations includes Marysville, Bothell, Dupont and Auburn I have a 4 year old 16 year old and a 20 year old also. I am looking to transfer to the closest V.A. Hospital so I've fell in love with Auburn although i still do not know much about the area. I do know no where in the state is even close to as bad as it is here in Richmond VA so I'm open to just about anything. I've calculated I would be making a little over 37k for now in Seattle so this is a factor. Thank you.

There is also Cascadia in Pierce County. Not sure when the homes will be ready.

Unfortunately, buying a home in the Seattle area with 37K in income would be very difficult.

I agree with tobester. $37k a year won't buy you a new home in the metro area unless you have a nice chunk of change to put down.

You may want to look into starter home in Tacoma. It also sounds like you could qualify for the city of Tacoma down payment assistance program if you haven't owned a home in the past 3 years. For a family of 4 the household income needs to be under $52,950. The DPA loan is 6% of the purchase price and can be used for closing costs and/or down payment. There are no payments and no interest for 20 years on the loan.

Thank you! This is my first home. Also it does not matter if I am in the middle of seattle or not just what ever location is best from what you all know of. I am moving from VA.

For your income you would probably be approved for about $160k or less. That also depends on other bills you may have such as credit cards, car payment, etc. I would also think you would need atleast a 3 bedroom home.
Doing a search of King County there are about 12 homes in that range (minus manufactured) and 10 condos. Most of the homes are in Federal Way and a few in the Burien/White Center area. The condos are in the Federal Way/Kent/Auburn area.

In Pierce County there are 166 houses, most in Tacoma ( a lot of them in the Down Payment Assistance areas mention above) and 11 condos mostly in the Puyallup area. There are actually a few newer townhomes available (year built 2000-2006) available.

Most of the homes in that price range are going to be short sales or foreclosures.
