I live in the city and love it but hardly any of my friends do. I think you would be better living outside of the city but you can also work and socialize outside of the city.

An annual salary of $37K would be hard to survive on for one person, much less someone with 2 children. Daycare is outrageously expensive, and the cost for educating a child can run as much as a college education, as there are not very many good public schools here, and folks that can send their kids to private institutions. However, it is not hopeless - an RN makes substantially more than $37K in the Seattle area. I would suggest completing your education before moving here.
