I really can't say anything bad about Seattle. I wish I was there!!!!!
I feel the same way. It's great to be back here. I lived in SLC for a while, and in my opinion.. compared to here, it was HELL. Tons of snow and extended periods of sub freezing temps in winter, 100+ degrees in the summer. Society based on a theocracy i dont agree with.. i could go on and on.

Seattle really is the best place for me. There are lots of opportunities here. While some complain about high taxes (sales tax of 9.6% in seattle) they are STILL lower than SLC or Denver by a wide margin. As a comparison, Denver has some 7+ percent sales tax on top of the near 5% the state takes from your income, and Salt Lake has near 7% sales tax on top of the flat 5% they take from your income.. AND they even tax unprepared food which they don't here. Public transportation is decent, and improving. I'm not sure about the "seattle freeze" as i have not experienced it.. but i do know that people are a LOT more friendly and helpful here than other places i've lived. (fairbanks, southern cal., slc, all over colorado, and eugene oregon). The only place i've lived that compares to Seattle is Eugene, and it's just too damn small with limited career opportunities.

But I still got out - it's MUCH easier to get out and do things in super hot weather then drizzly weather under 50 degrees for 8 months of the year

I don't do outdoor activities until 70 degrees out. I used to bike everywhere - now I only bike in July and August

Sucks to ride bikes with the hills in WA. I bought bikes in WA and rode them even in the witner when you'd have to chisel the ice off your eyes so you can blink! Never road them in AZ once and recnetly sold them. I just hate that big bright Mr. Sun, so I don't even want to be out and dry up like a raisin and get skin cancer. When do we start the title transfers? I'll have to ask my landlord if I can sell /herapartment, so give me a few days.
