Default Top 3 restaurants

Hey everyone,

Just wondering what your top 3, must visit restaurants are in Seattle? Preferably no more than a couple of miles outside of the downtown area.

Thanks, Joe

We are living frugally right now and don't go out much, or if we do it's somewhere cheap, but accidentally bumped into a great restaurant downtown with some of the most delicious food ever.

Pricey, but happy hour is a great deal. It's called the Icon Grill. Welcome to Icon Grill!

Trendy carnival but comfortable interior, wonderful service, amazing food. Regular price dinner entrees $20-$25 but every bite worth it. The dessert hot fudge sundae with homemade chocolate sauce encased in a funnel baked vanilla wafer is to die for. Cocktails are delicious.

Well worth a spin.

This is outstandingly a foodie town. Some of my favorites --

Seafood first:
Chef Tom Douglas' restaurants, especially Etta's, and Dahlia Lounge
McCormick's Fish House (on 4th)
McCormick & Schmick's
Shucker's
Crab Pot
Ivar's down on Alaskan Way by Eliott Bay (not gourmet, but a local icon)
Salty's at Alki Beach (great food, great water & islands view; short ride from downtown)

Earth & Ocean (elegantly eclectic)
Benihana (Japanese hibachi with high-flying knives)
Wild Ginger (elegantly eclectic; some Asian)
Maximillian (French; at Pike Place Market)
Kell's Irish Restaurant and Pub
Teatro ZinZanni (a hilarious 3-hour experience with Tom Douglas food)
Metropolitan Grill (steaks)
Brooklyn (many people like; I think it's deafeningly noisy; steaks & seafood)

Nishino (Perhaps world's finest Japanese menu, from the brilliant chef Matsuhisa Nobu; worth a thousand taxi rides from downtown)

These million restaurants are just in downton Seattle:

Now look what you've done: you've made me hungry!

Palisade is not downtown, but they offer "complimentary town car service" from downtown hotels.

Benihana has good food. Just don't order sushi there!

My favorite place for breakfast is Bay Cafe at fisherman's terminal.

Favorite sushi is Wasabi Bistro, in Belltown.. i believe it's on 2nd ave near Battery St.

Fisherman's restaraunt, at the end of pier 57 is a great place to go, especially if it's warm enough to sit outside.
