Default coming back home

I will be moving back to Washington after ten years of California and Hawaii. I am hoping to find a job teaching somewhere near Puget Sound (will take basically whatever I can get) and was wondering if anyone had some opinions as to nice areas to live, preferably north of seattle, which wouldn't too much of a horrendous commute?

Thanks, fellow Washingtonians!
