Girls trip to Seattle
Hello,
My girlfriends (late 20's to mid 30's) and I have chosen Seattle as our next girls weekend trip. We are going mid March.
I have never been, as well as the majority of my friends have not either.
Any suggestions on what part of town to stay in? Hotel suggestions? Restaurants?
Thank You!

You'll probably want to do all the touristy things, like go see Pike Place Market, the waterfront, harbor steps, ride the ferry, go to alki beach, maybe the aquarium, Westlake center, monorail, space needle.. etc.
If you can afford to stay at the Grand Hyatt, Monaco, or Alexis, it would probably be ideal. Somewhere more affordable (and thus for me.. more desirable) would probably be Executive Pacific or Ramada. These are all downtown and within walking distance of most of what i mentioned above.

If you are into something a bit more upscale you might want to check out downtown Bellevue. Let me know if you want some info on that.

I highly recomend staying at the Red Lion in downtown. It is located in the middle of everything at 5th and Pike. Pike Place Market is, as you guessed it, just a quick walk down Pike st from the hotel. All around is the hustle and bustle of downtown Seattle and pretty much everything is within walking distance.
There are so many good restaurants I don't know where to begin. Eat at at least one of the Tom Douglas restaurants...Tom Douglas being a world famous chef who has lived in Seattle most of his life. His most famous reataurants are in the city. Etta's is one of my favorites.
Other good places off the top of my head would be the Dhalia Lounge, The Flying Fish, Ipanema(Brazilian steak house), Ponti Seafood Grill, and Brasa. Not to mention the number of small restaurants inside of Pike Place market.
Seattle is wonderful and beautiful. I hope you enjoy your stay!

Dunno what you like to do,
but consider staying at either the Willows Lodge in Woodinville or the Woodmark in Kirkland if the city proper isn't important.
The Willows is central to the burgeoning wine region of Woodinville, and the Woodmark is on Lake Washington and convenient to the California-like suburb of downtown Kirkland, with the requisite bar and restaurant scene.
Of course, downtown Seattle proper is the go-to, and you won't go wrong there.

I wouldn't stay as far out as Woodinville. Stay downtown - the W is a really cool hotel, and you can use transit to get around.

Hotel 1000 wouldn't be a bad place either.
Given the ages of the ladies, I thought that wine-tripping might enter the equation, hence the Willows reccomendation.
I'd definitely default to downtown though.

Stick to downtown, the eastside will be too far out for a weekend trip. Depending on what you're up for, here are two cool things that are a bit 'out there' and lots of fun:
Seaplane ride - Kenmore aviation does 20 minute scenic seaplane flights over Seattle and the islands leaving from S. Lake Union, you get some amazing photo ops and everyone gets a window seat.
Kenmore Air | Flying the Pacific Northwest Since 1946 | The Seaplane Airline
The Electric Boat Company - no boating experience required, this is a cool business just north of the seaplane place that lets you rent an electric boat and sets you loose on Lake Union, $178 for a two hour minimum, boat holds up to 10 people and drinks are allowed on board (drivers have to stay legal of course.) Boats are heated and can be enclosed with see through plastic windows, or windows can be rolled up on nice days - much fun. Might be a bit long for a weekend trip but I highly recommend if you have the time.
Electric boat rentals & sales - Seattle, Washington
Either way, have fun!

I always send lady types to the Can Can for dinner and a show. Very entertaining and appropriate for a girls night. Make reservations ahead of time and bring your wallet, though.
