best neighborhoods?
Im moving to Seattle from San Diego in June '10 and I would like to start looking for apartments (2bd/2bth). Money is no object so what neighborhoods should I stay out of and which ones would be the best for shopping? Thank you so much, this will help me narrow down everything!

Honestly, I don't think Seattle has that many "stay out of" dangerous neighborhoods. I think the best neighborhoods for you would really depend on who you are. Your age, lifestyle, type of people you like to associate with, etc.

I agree, downtown Bellevue if you like to shop, for expensive stuff that is. Get a high-rise condo and just take the elevator to shop till you drop.

Shop and live
I think in Seattle down by University Village is good shopping and proximity to University of Wa when light rail extends to their. Also downtown Seattle shopping an restaurants are good so you could try capitol hill, Belltown, Down by Qwest field which gives you access to light rail opening soon to downtown retail and airport and finally eastlake which has the S LAke Union transit rail back and forth to the retail district. Eastlake has the benefit of being close to lake union with views and restaurants.

Downtown Seattle. The best shopping, culture, nightlife, restaurants, Pike Place Market, and the best public transportation if you choose.

People like Serena kill me
"Hope you like the rain".
What is that supposed to mean?
Has it been raining all the time and I just missed it? From what I've been able to tell, since our big storms around Xmas, it's been generally dry & cold. It sprinkled for a while yesterday. It will be dry all week.
It rains here like it rains other places. The issue for most is the gray, not the moisture.
If you don't like winter, please stop trying to project it on to other people who are just fine with it.
You're the same people who, when it's dry as it has been, complain that it's too cold.
Move to the Southwest if this thing called 'winter' is so difficult. Leave the rest of us out of it.
