OK then I misjudged Steiner, and they sound like a breath of fresh air in the disgusting world of subdivisions. They still have HOA's though, which are despicable.

Yeah, unfortunately, HOAs seem to be a part of every area that has been developed in the last couple of decades in just about any place in the country.

I moved from a huge subdivision in Austin (Circle C) to a neighborhood on the Eastside in Sammamish that has less than 50 houses in the HOA. Totally different experience. Some things I like better (more character to the homes, fewer enforceable restrictions, people don't get so nasty because it's small enough we all have to get along) and some things are worse (more ahem, character to the homes, and in general the landscaping just isn't kept as nice). I do live right off Pine Lake though so we have a real summer camp or mountain feel to our house. Nothing like walking down the street, popping the canoe in and paddling with a view of the Cascades. But not as good for running paths, etc. I so miss my running routes back in the big ole CCR subdivision in Texas. Nice wide shoulders, and really safe running. I think Steiner is really nice too but both Steiner and CCR in Austin are like the Trossachs in Sammamish. But back to topic, if you want swingin' apparently you gotta move to Snoqualmie Ridge. Too many friends that live there have reported that they have been propositioned for it not to be true on some level. Still a beautiful place to live though. Great view of Mt. Si.

orangeblossom is on a distinguished road
You know I was pretty clueless up until a few years ago when I even heard the term "poly" then a good childhood friend of mine started a poly relationship. She was the number 3 gf of the man she was seeing. Personally I think if you can't handle one relationship you have no business having 3. I even know of a house ( I'm not going to out anyone) where there are two poly families raising their kids. Now that is beyond my personal comfort level when you bring your kids into the picture. What sets this apart from people who are Mormons practicing poly/plural marriages?

I personally like cultivating friendships and I don't need to have sex with my friends to enjoy their company.

Ive met many of these people. The article perfectly describes a majority of them: work in the tech field, love WOW,go to SCA events, know every line of Monthy Python, have Dr.Who gear, into Wicca etc etc.

They are great folks, but the lifestyle isn't for me personally.

I have a hard enough time holding together my relationship with my husband to add another person into the mix. I'm not sure why I was surprised to learn of so many poly folks around town, I used to hang out at the Catwalk in the 90's.

I am going to check out that youtube video though.

Thanks for the link.
