Help for a Black Man Visiting Seattle 3/19-22
Hi I'm a single black male professional and will be visiting Seattle next weekend for fun. I'll hit most of the touristy spots, but I'm looking for suggestions for places to visit where I can meet single women. I have a preference for black women and would like to know where to go to meet them. However, I do appreciate and admire all women and I'm open to meeting such in a friendly environment. My bottom line goal is to enjoy the city and hopefully find someone I can enjoy it with while I'm there visiting .
Your recommendations are appreciated. Additional info I'm in my mid-30s and not looking for the very young fresh of out college crowd.

Medusa maybe? Craigslist? Pioneer Square. Seattle bars to me don't really send out a pick up vibe with friendly women. And I'm a woman. Tacoma,Renton have a more AA population if this helps out.

Why don't you just visit the places you've always wanted to see in Seattle, and then just let fate take care of it? If your true love is here in Seattle, you'll likely meet her while doing your own thing. The best places to bump into women are book stores, coffee shops, events, outdoor activities, farmers markets, libraries, normal places... The coffee shops are open late. Or find events that are happening that impress you, and go there. There are African American performers and dance classes (you could take a class):

There's the Northwest African American Museum, which may have more info about events in the community (and where you could bump into a woman):

Also, the Starbucks on 23rd in Central District seems to be an African American hangout. Very cool place, lots of people all the time, probably a few single women.
But if you definitely want a bar, Belltown has meat-markets for professionals. I haven't noticed where people hang out by ethnicity, unless you're looking for a club-type experience? I betcha the coffee shop could tell you where to go....

Too bad I didn't read this sooner! If you're ever in Seattle again, check out the Royal Esquire in Columbia City. It is the only prodominantely black club in the City. It is a mixed crown - age-wise and there are 3 separate rooms (2 DJ's: 1 in the front room; usually for the older crown - 'bout 30 and up / and 1 in the back room; typically the younger crowd - the 21's to 30's). I don't go out much like I use to, but if I do venture out on occassion, I'll head down to the Esquire on 1st Friday (I believe it's 30 and up only and usually pretty packed).
If you want somewhere that's not so crowded, there's Thompson's Point of View in the CD. However, it's not really in the best area of town (kinda ghetto), although I do go there from time to time if it's not on a Friday or Saturday night.
Remember that for your next visit. Hope this helps for next time...

Interesting thing I found out about Seattle is that it is the only major city, I believe, that has more Black men than Black women.

Have fun! There are many absolutely drop-dead stunning Ethiopian and Somali women in Seattle. Dunno how many go to bars, but you'll meet a few ladies somewhere, surely. It's a myth that there aren't many black people in Seattle. There's at least three dozen No, but seriously, there's plenty of black folks here. The trouble you'll have is age-range, honestly. Women of all colors hit up the clubs and bars in Cap Hill, Belltown and Pioneer Square, but they're going to be really young.
However, be aware that from what everything I've heard, King County cops don't quit. Even when a brotha's legit.

If I'm not mistaken... they require you to get a membership card the 1st time you come in. I believe it's $10 and is good for a year. However, by having the membership... it doesn't really come with any benefits. You still have to pay the same fee whenever you go. Although, I think you can enter through the Members Only door, which tends to same some time. Back in the day you'd have to wait for up to an HOUR to get in! That place gets packed! Keep in mind that the last time I was there was last August (for 1st Friday). You should call them 1st. The have changed (as far as cover) over the years. I remember when it was 5 bucks! Those were the days...
