Default Satellite TV and Internet?

Anyone using satellite for both tv and internet? If you are can you tell me how it is working and what the cost is? I am tired of paying 80 plus a month to comcast and 70 month to Verizon. I am hoping Satellite will be cheaper. I know Verizon and Comcast have bundles that are cheaper, but they are only cheaper for a year or two then go to full price.

I did find a Satellite company that sells Satellites and the TV channels are free TV (which channels I don't know). I had one in Germany, once I paid for the dish, I didn't have to pay for anything else, but I had to watch a mix of TV from different countries, which was ok. Found one company that sells these dishes in the US. Anyone using them?

I use Comcast's 99 dollars per month for hi speed net, cable tv and phone line bundle. The price never goes up and there is no contract. Mine is month to month and I can cancel at anytime. I heard from a friend that it could go up to 140 after one year but I called Comcast and they told me no- no contract and the price will still the same. I saw it advertised last summer so maybe it was a promo they were running at the time. Its worth calling and at least asking about. I have been using them since last summer and am enjoying the service and the price!

I had a Sprint AirCard, before. Company provided. I didn't use it except for official (*cough, I spent 180 days in hotels in a year*) business. It worked fine for watching TV. Or downloading shows to watch.

The only place it really didn't work was on mountain tops. Pretty bad reception up there on those mountain tops. Here's an article about air cards.

I have no idea what it costs. I'm sure it's not cheap, when you look at the price for the card and then the price for your data consumption. I looked into getting some sort of satellite service before, but then Qwest offered DSL in my area, so I didn't really look into it that hard. I know there are services that will beam straight to a card in your laptop, or PC. Good luck!

Sounds like you quit using it? Can you say why you stopped using online tv and what kind of channels did you get? How did it work (not good or bad, but how did you use it)? Did you have to use your mouse for channel changing or is there a remote that works??? What brand did you use?
