Remember that famous video "No Rain?"

YouTube - Blind Melon - No Rain (C) 1993 CAPITOL RECORDS

I often think that everything I'm into is my "tap dancing in a bee suit" and that "slum full of people laughing" is Jersey, and the meadow full of other "bee people" is the Western PNW, especially Seattle and Portland...and yes, I imagine there is a ton of RAIN (literal and metaphorical) in Seattle
Whoah.... aside from the whole spirituality thing, you are my CLONE. LOL! So I think you're really on to something with that. Actually my wife has all that plus some of the spirituality too. I guess people like us are naturally drawn to this area. Whereabouts in the Seattle are you thinking of moving to? I am closing on a house in Bothell in 2 weeks.

I was thinking I wanted to live in the city proper, like Freemont or Capital Hill. I heard the people there were pretty cool. Yahh, high cost of living over there and all, but hey, I'm from Jersey, and believe it or not, rent here is just about as high as in the middle of the city of Seattle.

A city is it's residents in my eyes.
And so I like that the pictures have everyday people in them.

In fact my least favorite ones were the people-less building pics and the hip-mom- hip-kid.

Not to insult anyone but it reminds me too much of an ad with models in it.
But it was still a good picture though!

And kids are always cute!

Thanks pwright!!!

It has been gorgeous here the last few days and that has been a nice CHANGE.

Oh lord! Here we go again. I do not share my pictures to say to people Seattle is sunny everyday of the year. We know its not. But the way you described Seattle is completely false.

I know! The only people who would be disappointed October-May after moving here based on those pics are those from SoCal, FL, or the deep south. Everyone else would still think its heaven because they get the hidden benefit NOT show in pwright's awesome pics, and that's the ULTRA MILD WINTERS!

I never said that you said that. Sorry but you're wrong- the way I described it is not false at all and you know it. Currently you are doing what a typical seattleite and you are basking in the glow of the couple nice weeks we've had and your memory has gone blank. and i know that that is a coping mechanism for Seattleites. I completely understand, because if you didn't have denial you would all lose it. Also. I am from New Hampshire so the post below is false too- yes the winters are mild and I WOULD take that over NH, but you know... other states besides florida and socal see the sun in the winter too. like... most of them! I love the city, but its a cr*p hole most of the year. You're lying to yourself and others to say its not. Now lets go out there and enjoy this BEATIFUL DAY!

So the weather Oct.- most of May makes Seattle a cr*p hole most of the year?
Give me a break. Why would we all live here then? I'm sorry but I can take the weather here, I chose it, I live it everyday, and somehow I'm still here and doing just fine. If you personally crave the sun for the majority of the year then Seattle is not for you. No one's memory has gone blank, there are just some of us who appreciate the cycles of nature, the rain thats been falling here for thousands of years and the beauty it creates. It is nature after all, easy to forget living a city life. It has no personal vendetta against you it's just doing its thing and you can plop yourself down and get into it or find another place where nature creates a more condusive environment for YOU.

Those pictures look fantastic! I hope I get to visit sometime soon! I could care less about weather...look where I live! LOL! IMO, any place is what you make of it and each city offers something unique.

I certainly can't claim to speak for every Seattleite but personally I'm not in any denial and my memory is just fine and I think the weather here is beautiful 365 days a year. I love the chill and the gloominess and the feel of raindrops on my face as well as the summer.. I actually prefer winters to summers here but not because I hate sunshine, but because I can go snowboarding.
