The Olivian
Anyone able to check out this new apartment complex downtown? They officially opened this past weekend and are open for touring.
What do you guys think of its location?
I'm thinking of renting there, despite their super high prices. Unfortunately, though I won't be able to see it in person before my move.

The location is at 8th and Olive Way. That's an area that has seen tremendous changes over the last few years. It used to be simply the northern edge of downtown , where there were a few older lowrise lower income apartments buildings and some small retail stores. Nowadays it's got upscale highrise residential.
It's really a very convenient location. Walking distance to the heart of downtown, to lower Capitol Hill, and to South Lake Union, so restaurants nearby should be plentiful.
Seattle didn't used to have highrise residences for the most part. The Olivian is next door to the Olive8 condos, another highrise.

How would the location compare to something like Cristalla, 5th&Madison, or Madison Tower?
I guess they are pretty close to each other so it might not matter. 5th&madison and madison tower seem just a little bit out of the way.
Just wish someone could actually do a comparison of the interiors too..

Everyone has different taste, so what I prefer in a location might be totally different than what you like, but:
Cristalla: too NOT out of the way. I personally wouldn't live in Belltown. too noisy, maybe a little unsafe.
Madison Tower/ 5th and Madison: kind of a boring location, Certainly convenient since it's downtown but mostly near office buildings and not a whole lot else.
Olivian: Since it's close to South Lake Union and lower Capitol Hill, it gives one more area to explore.
Simply based on location, it gets my vote, but I know nothing of the interior or of the rent.

Thanks for the opinions!
I'm a young and single male so wanted to be near restaurants and stores and where people congregrate. Sounds like Olive 8/Olivian and then Cristalla would be my best bets then.
Cristalla seemed a little bit away from the noise of Belltown but still closer to Pikes Place which I love.

I checked out the place a few weeks ago. The apartments are fabulous with hardwood floors, which are hard to find in Seattle. The amenities are great too, wine, lockers, good gym, rooftop garden (still under construction) I think it's worth giving a whirl, but be sure to choose the floor plan where you guest don't have to go through you bedroom to get to the bathroom.

The one on the left.
I love the location. In the heart of the dt retail district.
