Default Best commute time Tacoma to Kent

I'm going to be moving to the Northwest this summer and am interested in living in Tacoma and commuting to Kent for work. What are the fastest, least congested routes? How about using Highway 167 instead of I-5? Is there good mass transit between Tacoma and Kent,or light rail?

I am originally from the Seattle area, so I know about the pros and cons of living where the sky is gray most of the year and don't mind that. To me, it's the driving time that is the biggest hardship of living in the greater Seattle-Tacoma area!

Thanks for any insights you can pass on!

If the Tacoma and Kent stations (no to mention the schedule) are convenient for you, the Sounder trip takes a little over a half-hour between these cities.

Sounder Rail
