Hi All

So call me crazy, but I believe in good people, and I have done this sort of thing before. Plus its been a long, cold, dark winter in NH and its all going to my head! There are a lot of people looking to relocate, on a budget, and arriving to Seattle alone. If you comb over the craiglists, and rent.com sites long enough you see the deals are more likely on a two bedroom property (apartment, home, temporary, long term) vs attempting to go it alone.

Anyone, who is thinking of relocating this summer to Seattle, interested in staying in touch to see about sharing a temp apartment? I did this in Paris and Ireland both experiences were great. One became my long term roommate and the other a wickedly fun friend.

I realize your mother has always told you not to meet folks on line but I know from experience that sharing the financial load can make things so much easier and plus, a partner in crime from time to time is always good.

Anyhow, my timeline for Seattle is July/August, I am 25, female, college grad, now professional, originally a New Englander but I have been around. If anyone thinks my idea is more practical than ludicrious, leave a post, or send me a private message to exchange an email or two.

Cheers
Caro

You're crazy!

Good luck with that though, I'm moving up there about the same time as you with my fiancee.

Default My first time.

I am planning to move to Seattle to start school at Argosy University. I have no idea what I am doing, so your experience can help me. I am 30 years old and from Pueblo, Colorado.

I'm moving up there in June (from Texas). I'm 37 (sssshhhhh!) and I've been looking at Craig's List and plan on finding a house with roommate(s). I posted--on another thread--about not getting much of a response. However, I have gotten a few recently and I will be flying up there next week to visit some of them.

If you are able, try to make contacts and then plan on going there to meet. The several houses that I've been in contact with have been woderful. One of them even offered to let me stay there for a few days....eventhough I will be talking to other folks, as well. She also invited me to a symposium on climate change for one evening. (My degree is in Marine Science...so, I have studied a lot about--and have a lot of interest in--climate change)

I can't tell you much about apartments because I didn't want to live in one anymore. There seems to be quite a bit available this time of year since most college kids will be going home/graduating.

I will try to share what information I may find. Good luck!

Default I'm also moving to the Seattle area...

from New England

but not until next summer. I'm starting to look for apartments/ room mates.

Anyone looking for a roomie next summer? I'll be volunteering with City Year, fresh out of college, female, age 22, let me know...

Anyone know how to find a cheap apartment w/ or w/o room mates in the Seattle and surrounding areas? Any help would be much appreciated..... as I've never been to the area!
