Question Dog friendly places in Seattle

Hi! I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any dogfriendly hikes, beaches, parks or just places in general that are good to take dogs in seattle area?

Thanks

Seattle has one official off leash dog beach, at Magnuson Park, and about 10 other official off leash areas, ranging from the tiny Plymouth Pillars on Capitol Hill and 3rd and Bell in Belltown, to the multi acre parks at westcrest Park in West Seattle and Magnuson...
There are no parks in Seattle where you're not allowed to have a dog, but there is a large fine if you get caught with your dog on the beach or in the water ( Except at the designated Magnuson Park site).
Outside of Seattle, Marymoor Park is doggie disneyland, and that includes swimming access for dogs. That's in Redmond. South of Seattle is Grandview park near Kent, and the cedar River Off leash area just opened in Renton....I believe Edmonds also has a place for dogs to swim, near the Edmonds marina.

In general, Seattle has a reputation as being very dog friendly. Some people say it's more friendly to dogs than it is to children. You see them everywhere being walked, or with their owners on cafe patios, on trails all over the place. You do need a leash, but beyond that, anything outdoors nonbeach is likely to be quite used to dogs.

mt baker is very dog friendly there is the boulevard which is a huge strip of grass where maybe 300 dogs walk a day your dog will love the smells and everything. also if you go down to genesee which is lie 5 blocks from the boulevard there is a really nice dog park. it is very open so you can see your dog from all the way across the dog park and its the only one if ever been to that doesn't have regular fights. i think that might have to do with the openness they think if they fight everyone is just going to see immediately and rush towards it people and dogs. Also that neighborhood is near to the lake so you can walk your dog along the trails that go along the lake.

plus houses are either really expensive or cheap for seattle there. if you get one towards genesee it will be cheaper or one close to rainier ave or franklin highschool.

I can't recall the full title of the book I'm thinking of, but if you go to the Seattle/local section of a bookstore, there's a dog lover's guide to activities in the PNW, including off-leash parks, places to camp, dog-friendly cafes, etc. We found it pretty handy when we and our 2 puppies lived in Seattle.

Dogs are everywhere, so the question is "where can I not take my dogs". As a parent with three young kids I can relate to what Jenlion said. I don't mind dogs so much but I do like to take my kids to Alki beach because no dogs are allowed. My kids can play in the sand, we can have some food on a blanket, and not worry about a terrier coming along to lift a leg nearby. Cops don't seem to enforce the rule much though, honor system, we still see a few dogs every time. Wish the cops would focus some revenue-generating effort on ticketing people who take their dogs on Alki beach.

Aside from that, Luther Burbank park in Mercer Island is full of dog-crazed childless people, and they have an off leash area.
