In re-reading the story, he is quoted that he's done this before while working retail in California and New York. He is also quoted as saying "It's something I almost look forward to," and "It's a thrill and I'm an adrenaline-junkie person. It's the pursuit."
This concerns me. I'd like to think that the person helping customers would be more concerned with their safety than with cash in the till or (gulp) "the thrill of the pursuit". This may be a perfect opportunity for him to explore other endeavors where the safety of others is not a consideration.

He will find some other work -- I think Downtown Seattle Association should hire him as a Street Security Patrol wearing those yellow uniforms in Pioneer Square or 3rd/Pike cleaning out the riff-raff.

I think it was stupid more than heroic. Would have been totally different if it was one of these cases where someone goes to a public place and starts shooting. If someone takes on that kind of assailant that is heroic b/c you are risking your life to save others. Sadly banks get robbed all the time in this area, but usually a note is passed, money exchanged, and no one hurt. He made the decision to risk the welfare of all the customers in the bank by taking on someone who could have been armed.

I agree. The teller who foiled the bank robbery probably shouldn't have been fired, despite not following policy.
Still, he'll probably end up with his own reality TV show.

Considering moving to Seattle/Kitsap Penninsula area from Denver. What kinds of things should I be aware of? Are there areas of Seattle that are more dog-friendly than others? I have two 70+ pound dogs and it will be a big concern for me.

There are a lot of ugly Ridged sheet metal buildings in Seattle
Seattle = city of ridged sheet metal buildings esp in the 'burbs. I wish these tool sheds would shed their skins for something more pleasing.

Doggies are very welcomed here, and there's no area I've heard of that discriminates against dogs. And there are dogs everywhere.
The only thing you need to consider is if you want to live in an apartment building or a condo in a multi-family building. Some landlords / owners / property management companies might think twice about two dogs. But I think it's more likely that they will require that you pay two, rather than one, pet deposits.
Just be sure to bring up the subject at the very beginning, so you don't waste any time looking at a place that later proves to be impossible.

As a renter, I know that every complex that I looked at had weight limits on dogs (usually 35 pounds and under), and usually only 1 dog limits, so if you're coming here and are planning on renting, I could see you running into some serious problems. You might have more luck from an independent landlord, but I've had difficulty finding rentals while having pets.
Good luck!
