Seattle for a Year (high school, living in, move to)

My best friend and I are upcoming seniors in high school. We're both Southern-born and raised--I'm from Arkansas, she's from Tennessee. We're currently living in Murfreesboro, a wonderful city with a population of about 80,000. After graduation, my best friend is planning(and has been for some time) to move to Seattle for a year. I recently received an offer to work for the hospital here, but I can't until I'm eighteen. And I'll be graduating at 17 because of certain circumstances. So! That means I have a year between high school and nursing school to kill. And I'd like to spend it with Lauren in Seattle. Here's my question--Where would the best place for us in Seattle be?

"Best" equals what to you? Seattle and the surrounding towns are filled with comfortable, scenic, and interesting places to live. If you look at a map you'll see lots of names.

Where will your friend be working? THAT is the first and maybe most important question, because commutes can be long and frustrating here if one lives too far from one's job.

Then, what other parameters are important to you?
