I like Bothell but it might be getting too far from downtown. I really like Lynnwood but I also want to consider other places like Northgate, Tukwila and Burien. Any comments about those places?

THANKS in advance!
I would second Bothell, particularly the Canyon Park area (because downtown doesn't seem too special). It's where I just bought my house. Best ratio of price to schools to conveniences. 3 minutes to 405, 7 minutes to I-5 and and Alderwood Mall. And you can cut across Brier and get on the I-5 just north of the King County border. Plus better access to the Eastside than Lynnwood and a LOT less crime too. If you have to have awesome mountain views and convenience, and don't mind the risk of having your house flooded, try North Bend.

I see a lot of recommendations for Redmond, Sammamish, Bellevue, Issaquah, Woodinville, Snoqualmie. Sure, GREAT! If you're made of MONEY! You're going to spend at LEAST $100K more for the same house than Bothell in any of those areas. In some cases you'll spend DOUBLE.

Yeah, but Edmonds has a downright terrible school district.

Take a look at Maple Valley!
Maple Valley might be great if you work in Renton or Tacoma, but anywhere else and you're in for some serious commuting pain. That said, I was going to start looking at Maple Valley next if Bothell didn't pan out for me like it did.
