Default Local food and beer

i'm staying in seattle for a night at the end of this month and i'm completely unfamiliar with the area , i'd like to find a cheap local food joint or 2 ( preferably under $10 ) that's unique to seattle. something that you can't get somewhere else or that they just do better or different ya know. and i'd like to check out 1 or 2 of their best breweries. if possible i'd like these to be located in or near the downtown area as that's where most of my time will be spent but i don't know if this is possible , as i said i'm completely unfamiliar with the area haha. thanks for the help

Pike Place Brewery in the Pike Place Market might be the only brewery downtown, and it's good.....
Food? How about Salumi in Pioneer Square. Divine, out of this world sandwiches made with home cured meats. Owned by celeb chef Mario Batali's dad Armandino. get there early in the day ( like 11ish) or late, like 2 PM, because they get mobbed.....In Fremont, there's another unique hole in the world Caribbean sandwich joint called Paseo...

Downtown has several good happy hours with lots of different kinds of food. The Seattle Times has an article every week profiling one of these spots so a search on their site should turn up some good choices. There are other online happy hour web sites but many reviews are out of date. Dragonfish has good food and several kinds of beer on tap.
