TBH, I haven't seen any real "ghettos" here to date. I remember the night I got stranded in Burien for a day. Besides a group of Mexicans that looked a bit suspicious, that was nothing even close to what I'm used to dealing with. When I was in Indiana, there were lot's of "ghettos" and "hoods". Even I lived in the hood before, and you hear shootings and everything. They tell me that Federal Way is ghetto a lot, but it's still a lot nicer than Indiana.

Hey, I even walked around White Center at night before. Nothing happened. No one bothered me, or anything like that. I looked around and said, "Is THIS really a ghetto? Don't make me laugh!". You want to see a real ghetto? Go to south side Chigago IL, anywhere in Gary IN or East St. Louis IL, Detroit MI, Philidelphia PA, or NYC. One visit and you'll have a whole new meaning of what a ghetto really is

I think most people who've lived in other large cities in the USA and in some truly dangerous places will admit that Seattle is very safe relatively speaking. There are some parts where it's just random violence - like the girl from St. Louis who got murdered by a guy randomly off the street after he entered their house - which is terrible.

Having lived on the South Side of Chicago I can say there some areas are really bad. There are areas where white people simply don't go unless they want to get shot at. And the favelas are really bad and don't want to go there due to personal reasons from a former profession of mine.

stay out of south seattle, rainier beach, yessler terrace, and even central district. the nice parts are in queen anne, magnolia, etc., etc. if you want the safe, rich places, then redmond (around microsoft and marymoor park), bellevue, medina, mercer island, and kirkland. just stay out of south seattle. i used to live there, but if you move there, try to secure a good job to move out to the eastside. i did, and its working out great. havent seen much violence in a while. coming from south central LA, a city much like cleveland, crime will be easy to avoid if you know your way around, but dont pack a gun in your bag lol. just stay away from crime.
