it seems like the hospitals here never have any positions open! Yes I am a LPN but I hardly see RN or anything else hiring either. Where else to most people work at if not Seattle? I was under the impression that most people in the medical field had a leg up to get a job here. Where else do most people work if not directly downtown WA? I was told Tacoma is bad, Yakima was bad.. The whole point in the move was to be in SEATTLE I don't want a 2 hours commute! Any advice or suggestions??

My friend is an RN and never had a problem finding work at any of the Seattle hospitals.

Well that is interesting because I have spent March until today applying online and no luck, at all, at any hospitals from Tacoma to Bellingham! I've gone to the Seattle CityData & Wiki page and systematically went to apply at each and every hospital or clinic listed. I am a new LPN but I do have nearly a decade of experience in the medical field. I have a good resume and everything! Yes I'm using CareerBuilder and NWJobs plus tons more line indeed.. I don't get it all that is left now are Flu Shot positions and home health..

Actually, Tacoma has some really nice neighborhoods, but other hospitals in the Seattle area include Evergreen in Kirkland, Overlake in Bellevue, Highline in Burien, Valley Medical in Renton, and others.

I don't know what to tell you. When my wife and I first got here we looked for CMA positions for her, and there were tons, as well as nursing jobs. She got at least a dozen calls, and 5-6 interviews, and even more interviews after she accepted an offer.

It does seem like they go in spurts though. A week of jobs listed online, then 2-3 weeks of no jobs listed. Are you checking at least several times a week, at the actual hospital websites? Just keep checking, adn I am surprised you haven;t run across anything in that long.

For patient care positions, yes they do. I work for one of the medical centers here in the city and as of this morning, there are twenty two open nursing positions, three of which are LPN's.

Here are the links to three hospitals - I hope these help.
