MS has a large presence here but there's also Expedia, Amazon, Google, AT&T, among many many others. You can also check out a place called campus point that helps you land a job with smaller companies if you are within 6 years of having graduated college.

What can you do in Seattle with a AAST in Network Design & Administration from an accredited CC, very good skills in web development (php-mysql, sql, .Net, javascript, html/css, ajax, etc.), 3 years of customer service in Seattle area, 5 years of Admin & HR experience, a baccalaureate in Social Sciences Option: political science? Is going for another Associate in Business or BA in Accounting a plus? How about a Bachelor in Economics? Help.

How is the IT job market doing in Seattle at this point? Is there at least some growth in some or certain areas? I'm in software/desktop support (not help desk) I always watch the numbers on Dice.com, but figured you may have some info. Thanks!

Default IT Mkt Seattle

Due to area lay offs there is still a backlog (if you will) of laid off IT folks. Because of this, companies are being very picky. Candidates who meet & exceed all the requirements/desireds get to the interview process. Salaries are also being effected as many individuals are very willing to drop thier salaries in order to get the job.
Companies are starting to hire but it is slow and they are taking thier time. You will also see more hybrid positions and less specialization depending on the size of the organization. that is the general nutshell from my perspective.
Dice.com and Indeed.com are great places to keep tabs on the market.
