Default info needed on Auburn, Washington

Hi there, I am looking into attending Green River Community College for Court Reporting/Captioning. I need any information on the school and on Auburn that anyone can give me. Is this a nice area to live in? What is the school's reputation like?

If I were to work in Bellevue or Seattle, would the commute be pretty horrendous as far as traffic goes? What are the job opportunities like in Auburn?

Any and all information and input would be greatly appreciated. My biggest concerns are safety, cleanliness and job opportunity (I will be working while attending college). Thank you in advance!

If you worked in Seattle during normal weekday hours, you could take the Sounder Train from Auburn, a pleasant and fairly quick and painless way to do it. There are also buses into Seattle that are fairly fast express buses.
Bellevue would be more of a pain from Auburn.

Auburn is close to both cities, they are both 30 minutes away from auburn. The traffic is better in seattle, just because there are other routes and transportation to get there. There are buses, train, and hwy and freeways to get to seattle. The train takes about 25 minutes and the bus takes about 45 minutes. Auburn is really close to other cities: federal way, kent, renton, puyallup, tukwila, bonney lake, lake tapps, airport, tacoma, and basically the whole seattle metropolitan area. There are many places that you can travel to within an hour or less. Downtown auburn is getting a makeover, they are doing construction on it now. Also lots of services are in auburn or close by

Hi, I have lived in Auburn for 6 years. I live a couple of blooks from Green River Community College. It is very safe. I think I had my car broken into once, but the neighborhood around the college is fine. The commute to either Seattle or Bellevue will not be great. I have a good friend that drives to Bellevue everyday but he starts work at 6 am so traffic is not so bad then. If you can find work in Auburn or Kent that would be best. I work in Kent so I'm about 10 minutes from work and don't have to battle traffic. What field are you in? You may not have to go to Seattle or Bellevue to work.
