good places to eat N. Seattle
Hello, I just moved to the area and I am trying to find good(non chain) Restaurants in my area. I live in shoreline/lake forest park area. I can't seem to find any good places to eat and I don't want to have to drive too far everytime I want to have a good meal. I like all kinds of food not picky. Just fresh food not greasy please. Can anyone recommend anything in my area?

You're kind of in a restaurant dead zone. I live just north of you in Mountlake Terrace, and I usually have to drive a bit to get to a decent restaurant. If I were you, I'd just head south to Seattle or maybe north to Edmonds. What kind of food do you like?

Saffron Grill
The Saffron Grill is a great place if you are into Indian/ Mediterrean. It is by the Northgate mall adjacent to the Hotel Nexus

If you are willing to drive a little south, the Maple Leaf Grill in Maple Leaf neighborhood of Seattle is very good. Maple Leaf Grill It's on 89th and Roosevelt.

Take a look on yelp.com. There are a lot of good little places hidden away that are reported on there.

We really like the Kasbah in Crown Hill, off 85th. It's morrocan
We really like Gordito's off 85th, it's mexican
Next to the Maple Leaf Grill, WAS The Jones Bistro - which has turned into the Roosevelt Ale house - it was fabulous
We LOVE Moon Temple on 45th for Chinese
Actually there are a TON of resturants on 45th in Wallingford if you are willing to drive down Aurora

You also might want to check out LC's Kitchen at 80th & Lake City Way. Fun place, with a rotating menu of great dishes which are clearly made in-house.

Casper's Taste of the South at 15030 Bothell Way has some great ribs...There's also some pretty good food ( much better than avg food court food) in the food court of the Third Place Books at Lake Forest Park mall.

Go west across I-5. On on 143rd and greenwood check out Saltoro's. In Richmond Highlands you have Hills restaurant. Both excellent bistros. At 175th and Aurora you have Spiros which is good italian and pizza. Finally at 205th near lake ballinger across from Costco is a good seafood steak Scotts Bar and Grill.
