Just in case a person casually browsing the Internet were to come across this list, we certainly wouldn't want them to assume any stereotypes about Seattleites' behavior. Thus, while the humor is appreciated and good-naturedly accepted, there should be caveats that, in case one were to be offended, the list doesn't apply to all Seattleites and may contain a few humorous exaggerations.
Haha, gotta love Seattle.

I concur.
#27 You consider yourself liberal except you can't stand noise pollution, light pollution, loud public outdoor gatherings, touch dancing, not covering up every square inch of flesh 365 days a year, drinking in public, talking above an indoor voice, loud music, loud parties, dance clubs, non-political humor, blonde hair, New Yorkers, Californians, sports, sunbathing, fashion, Bellevue, eating red meat, light beers, cruise ships, tourists, direct eye contact, purposely ambitious architecture, bright colors...
Wait, am I talking about Southern Baptists or my older fellow Seattlites? I can't tell the difference sometimes.

Let's see, I am an "older" native Seattleite, and consider myself a liberal, and I have no problems with loud public outdoor gatherings if they are held in an appropriate venue, no problems with touch dancing, drinking in public in moderation, etc.
Like loud public outdoor gatherings, loud music, and loud parties are okay in the appropriate setting. They are never appropriate when they infringe on other people.

Just curious, but when you say "They are never appropriate when they infringe on other people," one could extrapolate that any outdoor gathering potentially infringes upon other people. How is there an outdoor gathering in an urban setting that is not at least heard by the uninvolved? By that logic, then outdoor gatherings, loud music, and loud parties are not okay.

But there are residential zones interspersed with the commercial and industrial zones throughout the city -- even Seattle Center -- this of course happens everywhere and isn't unique to Seattle.
I think a novel idea would be an outdoor festival where the music is piped through a wireless system received by headphones that the audience wears.
This would minimize the noise encroachment -- of course, we'd have to have ushers or possibly police whose job it would be to admonish the crowd itself to use their inside voices (despite being outside).
That could work and I think it would be a good compromise between those who wish to enjoy music outdoors and nearby residents who wish to have a quiet evening.

I was watching something on the history channel about the state of Washington. Historian Leonard Garfield coined this: If you see a person with dark sunglasses and no umbrella and it's pouring rain, that's a Seattleite. Quite interesting. I am currently living in the metro Atlanta area and I often fo wear sunglasses in the rain, while riding a bicycle sometimes.
