Wow, quite a move. Been to PR. Loved it. But it certainly will be culture shock and weather shock.

Me personally no. But then I have no family there either. I think it's a cool place though and I'd love to go back.

Thanks for giving PR a good rating and believe me it deserved it, but I need a change from the fast paced living style and the "disorderly conduct"

I know about a half a dozen Puerto Ricans in Seattle. All of them love Puerto Rico and enjoy going back to visit, and are also glad they don't live there anymore. At the same time, none of them moved here directly from Puerto Rico. All moved to the New York area before moving to Seattle, and all of them are particularly glad to be away from New York. Maybe having NY as a transition made it easier for them?

Just as long as you know to expect few fellow Puerto Ricans in Seattle and only one Puerto Rican restaurant, as far as I know. But it is a really good place.

I went to La Isla before it became La Isla, when it was Sofrito Rico, and had a great meal.
