Default Great neighbors

Hi. I have an opportunity to move to the Seattle area next month and I'm researching family friendly neighborhoods. By family friendly I mean, safe of course, lots of young families (30's/40's) with children, and where people still get together for bbq's and poker nights. I would love any information on great neighborhoods, schools, and anything else you think might help.
Thanks so much!

In the state of Washington it is illegal to speak on-line about gambling, so the poker info. is out of bounds. : )

As for neighorhoods, that is a tough one to answer. That can vary street to street. What you need to look at is where you are going to work and the commute involved to get from there to where ever. Face it, if you spend all your non working hours commuting, it don't matter where the poker game is at.

The second consideration is price of home. That's gone nuts here. Expect to pay 300K for a starter home anywhere in King county, except the areas that are harder to get to.

In general:

King county: North Bend, Snoqualmie and Fall city are on the I-90 corridor and has a more small town feel. 30 minutes to seattle, microsoft etc.

Snohomish county: Monroe, Sultan Hwy 2 corridor 1 hour to Seattle etc.

Pierce County: Bonney Lake area. SR 167 corridor 1 hour to seattle etc.

start there. More later
