For those who moved to Seattle recently, how did your opinion about the city change over time? (sales)

For those who moved to Seattle (especially in the past few years), how did your feelings about the city change over the course of a year or longer? What aspects did you grow to like and dislike?

I moved here about a year and a half ago. I think my favorite part of living here is how casual it is. A lot more than I expected. Its nice to be able to go to a "trendy" restaurant and either dress up or not. The option is nice. No one seems to care what you wear.

Also pleasant surprises: great Thai food, fun opportunities for day and weekend trips, really great local wines and wineries, and the library system.

Unpleasant surprises: I'm still not used to the loooong summer days and short winter days. Its just different enough from what I'm used to. Also, going out for dinner is more expensive than I'm used to due to higher food costs as well as a high sales tax on restaurant food. It just makes us think twice about going out to eat as much.

As for the usual things: weather, traffic, people, etc., it's about what I expected. I had visited here a bunch before moving.
