Arizona law is no different than those already in existence in Missouri or the practices of certain counties in Georgia.

At one point in history, Mexico not only claimed, but occupied land as far north as San Francisco and as far east as Colorado, parts of Oklahoma and most of Texas. It would not be unheard of for them to re-claim it again. La Raza actually expounds this. U.S. Immigration Laws: The Truth About "La Raza" Movement - HUMAN EVENTS

Lawyers don't debate civil war and revolution in some judicial process. The American Revolution was illegal; its leaders were violent felons under British law. But they won. That's the only valid criterion of success.

I would say that the states most likely to secede if it happened would be Montana or Wyoming.

people say that the feds would swoop right in and blast the states right off the map.

please remember that the very 1st thing a state does when they secede is to take over federal military bases in that state(ie. south carolina civil war).

that would mean that Mt. or Wy. would have alot of state owned ICBM's in their power and not in federal hands.

Bullcrap. It has a provision to divide into five *states*, not secede.

I don't believe in left leaning snopes. Find another source that is believable.

Good luck - neither one is leaving.

First order is to defend the nucs
Second order is to defend the nucs
Third order is to defend the nucs

The very first thing to protect the citizenry or didn't you read the first three orders! The militia is spread so far and wide it wouldn't be practical nor make much sense.

If the states were to do so, they would have to return to the Feds all the money they accepted and all the lands therin. They can't and aren't. Wyoming is one of those states that receives more in return in funds than it pays in.

You leave out Hawaii, Vermont, California and all 13 original states...

Go read the original TX Constitution and the statehood agreement, it was a provision to split into 5 states. Secession is a Tenth Amendment matter as it's not expressly forbidden in the Constitution...

Need anything more believable? Those two URL's point to the Texas Constitution searching for secede or secession respectively.

Actually the real issue is that nearly every state constitution agrees to be ruled by the US Constitution (not the federal government, or the President). LEGALLY the only reason to secede would be to prevent rule by the federal government, logically this can only happen if the federal government was not acting constitutionally. If this was the case, then from oath of office there is a duty (by any means necessary) to return constitutional rule.

So for any state congress to do this, they need both the US Congress to be acting unconstitutionally, AND to break their oath of office, AND (most likely) state constitution to secede.

Now, if that state congress was prepared to do all of that, would you want to be governed by that congress?
