Honest Question:

Why does anyone want to survive an event this big?

For me at least, the journalist side of me hasn't died.

I can see it all now. YS goes sky high and a bunch of old geezers make it to the survival point for no more reason than they had to get out of bed to pee. During the activity they noticed things warn't right, and got the head start youngsters won't.

I'd expand that to include wanting to help humanity survive an event that big.

Why?
Simple morality.
Dead things have no morality.
So supporting the continuation of human life is a moral obligation.

Umm, to an extent. No being survives forever. Humans will be gone one day too. Maybe Yellowstone is it.

Besides, it seems that many on this board would shoot anyone that dares step on their property. Doesn't sound like species survival to me.

I can't speak for everyone, of course, but I can speak for me. While I remain armed 24/7 and even carry 2 hand guns when I leave this property, I did take down the No Tresspassing Signs and have not a care in the world about anyone passing thru the woods, walking along the brook, passing by the strawberries and sampling some any ol' time.

Anyone with innocent intent is more than welcomed to pass thru here, hunt here, fish here, and just plain relax.

Last year 2 elderly ladies came in a car thinking the old horse race track was passable by car. It is not and as they questioned me in the garden where I was by chance, and I am in the garden by a lot of chance I notied their car wasn't running right, and asked them to pop the hood and fixed that problem for free.

They never made mention of the .45 on my hip in plain sight, and neither did I. After the car was fixed they told me as young girls they had come here to the then Fair Ground, and had spent time swimming in the brook where a pool still is.

They were a little feeble, so I picked a small basket of berries to give them also for free.
